Millie Shah, from Burtonsville, Maryland is a junior majoring in biomedical engineering major in the School of Engineering. Shah studied Korean at the beginner level at Chonnam National University in Gwangju, South Korea from June 14 to August 18.
Shah studied in the Guaranteed Medicine program at VCU and has plans to pursue a Medical Degree. Shah plans to leverage her experience from the biomedical engineering program to research and create medical products in the future.
Shah will use the scholarship to help her to learn more about the growing Korean engineering industry. As president of the Society of Women Engineers, she has a vested interest in learning from the experiences of Korean women studying engineering. In the future, Shah has plans to increase awareness of the importance of women joining the fields of STEM.
